Bee guts were dissected in sterile water then homogenized in sterile physiologic saline. The gut homogenates were plated on De Man, Rogosa, Sharpe agar plates supplemented with 20 % D-fructose, then incubated in an aerobic environment for 2-3 days at 24°C. |
