    [Ref.: #65484] Isolation/enrichment procedure The bacterial strain was isolated from an enrichment culture which was set up in order to cultivate methanogenic archaea. Therefore, MZ medium 287 was modified according to Stantscheff et al. and supplemented with 1 mg l^-1 Na2WO4xH2O, sodium acetate and formate (10mM each), methanol, and reactor sludge (5 % (v/v) each). Sludge was prepared as described for DSMZ medium 119. The medium was prepared under anoxic conditions in an anaerobic chamber, transferred to serum bottles and autoclaved under
