[Ref.: #66671]	Isolation/enrichment procedure	A green alga P. chromatophora was cultivated at 25°C for 4 weeks in DY-V medium under light and dark conditions. Algal cells were mechanically homogenized using a homogenizer for 1 min to detach associated bacteria from algal cells and were serially diluted in fresh DY-V medium. Small aliquots (100 µl) of each dilution were spread on Reasoner's 2A agar and incubated aerobically at 25°C for 3 days.
