Myxospores are short, thick, often bean-shaped, non-refractile, combined with 2 or 1 refractile granules, 1.7-2.2 µm long (usually about 2 µm) and 0.95-1.4 µm thick (usually about 1 µm). Sporangioles with distinct rough shells. Swarms often in oscillating waves. Sizes may differ on distinct cultivation media.
