1-2 g of faecal sample were serially diluted (tenfold) with peptone water (Merck) supplemented with cysteine hydrochloride (0.5 g l-1). Aliquots of 1 ml from each dilution (from 10-1 down to 10-9) were inoculated onto TPY agar. Plates were incubated under anaerobic conditions at 37°C for 48-72 h. |
